Most people are use to having wall safes or just small home security safes. These are the two types of safes that most burglars look for when they go in a home. These are usually very easy for an experienced eye to spot and be able to break in to them and be out of your house in just a few minutes. In fact, thieves often will simply pick up an unsecured home safe and walk out the door with it to open it at their leisure back in their shop.

There are various advantages of buying and owning a floor safe. One of these is that these safes are usually a little harder for anyone to find if they are trying to steal valuables from your home. You can actually have the safe placed under carpet or other types of flooring where someone who is trying to burglarize your home may not even consider looking. This is also a good place to hide things from children too.

Another advantage of having a floor safe in your home is that installation is not very hard to do. You will usually have a lot of room under floors compared to walls. The best way to have one of these safes installed is in concrete. Then, you will not have to worry about someone being able to carry your safe out of your home again. An even better advantage of these safes would be that they are usually fire resistant. Many of these models also have the walls that are made out of a material that will not rust either. You usually install these safes in either the basement where there will usually be a concrete floor or you can even install them in a garage if you do not have a basement to put them in.

A disadvantage of these safes are that if you get one that has a digital lock on it, it can possibly collect moisture on this and will not work properly. No manufactures are making biometric safe versions of these either.

If you are constantly worried about your valuable possessions and someone stealing them, then a floor safe would be the best way to help to relieve you of some of your worrying. Before buying any kind of safe, you will want to do your own research to see which one would best fit your situation. Do research on the internet to make sure the safe you are interested in will be something that can be installed in your home.

If you have ever experienced a home catching fire or lived through any type of disaster where something has burned, I’m sure the memory still stays with you. With a lifetime of important photos, financial records, birth certificates, and even insurance papers that need to be stored…losing these to a fire is simply a horrible situation to face. Even worse, if you have a home based business with its records also stored, literally your entire means of living can “go up in smoke”. That is why now is the best time to consider a fire proof safe and storage solution to make sure that your life’s prized valuables are protected and preserved.

A fire safe filing cabinet may be too large for home storage, but for an office it will be ideal and will be able to hold both staff and client information. For home use you may instead use one ore more fireproof wall safes, or a fire safe cash box or similar small device to keep both cash and valuable documents safe. Wall safes are great for privacy and hiding things, but the down side to installation is that you may have to do quite a bit of retro fitting your existing structures. Usually this entails reframing walls and extensive drywall work. Usually these in wall safes only are large enough to hold small papers, and may require that the documents are folded.

There are also options that are available in between the sizes of the small domestic and large commercial fire safe storage options, and there is nothing to stop the use of a filing cabinet for the home, or a small safe for an office. Fire safe boxes are small boxes that can be portable and inexpensive, but protect their contents in the event of a fire. Other fire safe storage options for documents would include online storage of a document that has been scanned. This then is stored off site in a secure facility.

With all of the various options that are available you want to be sure that you are getting something that best meets your needs. This is not a place to buy a cheap fireproof safe, which will not protect your valuables. With the fact that you are not only parting with your hard earned cash in the purchase but are also risking potentially irreplaceable items, you have only one chance to get it right. Spend time looking at the various choices online before you settle on any particular one.
